Sports Massage (Soft Tissue) Therapy

At PB Fitness the massage treatment is tailored to suit and involves a range of techniques from passive stretching, trigger point therapy, muscle energy techniques, frictions, deep friction massage, petrissage and myofasical release as well as the traditional deep massage strokes.

It need not be painful either as I take the approach of working within your pain threshold (as long as you tell me!) because if you are relaxed your body will work best with me and my techniques.

A sports massage is manipulating soft tissue to improve or enhance range of movement, breaking down adhesions, scar tissue, or damage sites within a muscle, tendon or ligament. It doesn’t have to be painful, but can be a somewhat uncomfortable mix of fingers, thumbs, knuckles and forearms techniques.

Sports massages aim is to increase circulation and lymphatic flow, however there are a number of benefits to the techniques used within a sports massage:

In order to benefit from a sports massage then you don’t need to be a sports person, the above effects can help nearly everyone in there day to day life overcome aces, pains, strains, fatigue and tensions.

I work with arrange of clients in helping them with preventative treatments and injury recovery. Your initial session will be 1 hour 30 minutes long. Within this session we will have a chat about what the problem is, how you did it how long you have had the problem for. Then we will do some range of movement and functional testing to see what part of the body is effected. From there we will have a 45 minute massage on the problem area(s), then finish off the session with a retest to see how it is feeling and give you some exercises to do at home.

In the cost for your initial assessment of £40 you will receive the 1 hour 30 minute assessment session and then a second 1 hour massage session for free.
